Wikipeidia summary: Misfits follows five early-20s delinquents on community service in Wertham (a fictional borough in an unnamed city), who are caught outside during a thunder storm and acquire special powers. Kelly gains the ability to read the thoughts of others, Curtis can rewind time when experiencing an immense sense of regret, Alisha sends people into a sexual frenzy when they touch her skin, and Simon can become invisible. Seemingly left unaffected is smart alec Nathan, who, in the final episode of the first series, discovers he is immortal.

My Thoughts: I must admit when i first began to watch misfits i was extremely cynical after seeing a promo for it i thought 'what the f*** is that?'. But for my birthday i got given in on DVD so i thought why not. When i am wrong i admit I'm wrong. Misfits shows the best parts of British comedy, as the actors portray splendidly the different stereotypes of teenagers in modern day society.

I immediately fell in love with the characters on a deep level, so individual and complete opposites but they went together like beans on toast. Nathan (Robert Sheehan) in one word is a jerk. Full blown jerk! if he were someone you knew you would hate him with a passion but under the circumstance, once you break that 'i take the piss out of everyone in sight' barrier he is an alright guy, who cares about others. He is a great character and Sheehan portrays him brilliantly.

However as the series' progress, the dark horse Simon (Iwan Rheon) starts to make more of an impact on the audience. With his unlikely pairing with Alisha (Antonia Thomas) the writers bring out a completely different side of him which no one would have ever thought him to have. He has a major storyline which is the focus for the majority of the 2nd Series along with a bit of shape shifting, masked men, grand theft auto and teleporting all finishing with an epic Christmas special where the storyline is IMMENSE. I just love it when a story comes together and its just a work of absolute genius.

With such an original background story the producers can do anything with the script therefor making it, unlike other shows, completely unpredictable. With so many twists and turns Misfits leaves you on the edge of your seat or sometimes on the floor in a fit of laughter. The cast is jam packed with upcoming stars who make the show what it is. I would recommend this to all those who love a bit of humour and originality in their entertainment because i promise Misfits is like no other.

My Rating: * * * * *
